WHO I AM
I was born in Buenos Aires Argentina in 1985 and grew up there with my parents and three siblings.
I started Muay Thai in 1998 at the Acropolis (Club Atletico Tigre) in Victoria, Buenos Aires. Fernando Muñoz was my first trainer. He always said “to become a complete fighter you have to be able to utilize all parts of your body.” Here’s where I started forging the love for Muay Thai and Boxing.
MY AMATEUR YEARS
After a couple months of training, I started fighting representing Fernando’s gym. Fighting allowed me to put in practice what I learned throughout those months of hard training and to challenge myself to a new level. I’ve dreamed and still do about becoming the best in the sport that I could and can be. Fighting for Fernando was an honor for me; I was looking forward to the accomplishments in my career. The first couple of years with Fernando was the beginning of something magnificent (I thank you for that).
A NEW HOME AND FRIEND
In 2001, Argentina was going into a very deep economic crisis and in 2002 my father accepted a job opportunity in the United States.
As a new immigrant, it was very hard to communicate with people. I had no connections in the fighting world or friends to recur.
After 3 months in the U.S., training by myself while searching for a place to train I ended up at a dojo in Sunrise, Florida. Roger Krahl gave me a place to train and dedicated his time to help me move forward in my fighting career. With Roger supporting me from my corner, I participated in my first “International” fight. We won by a KO in the 3rd round. After that, we added a number of fights to my record with impeccable results, leading later on to title fights. Roger not only helped me achieve my personal goals in my amateur career, but he also opened the doors of his gym to me as if I was part of his family. I feel tremendous gratitude toward Roger because he was the one who kept me from going back to Argentina. He gave me a reason to stay here and keep on fighting. He found as many fight opportunities as he could for me throughout my amateur career. We fought together for 4 years and he helped me accomplish the ISKA Florida Light-Heavyweight title, ISKA USA Extreme Challenge title, and the IKF North American Middleweight title.

A NEW LIFE AND GOING "PRO"
In late 2005, God blessed with one of the most precious gifts in my life, Paula Davalos. A year later we got married and moved to Orlando, Florida. Even though Paula and I were happy and comfortable together, I had to find someone who could help me accomplish my personal goal: To become the best I could in the sport. After several weeks of searching for a place to continue with muay thai I found my new trainer Robert (“Bobby”) Robare.
By the end of 2006, I took a shot at the professional Shindo Kumate show. I knew this was another big challenge as well as an important step in my career. Bobby brought me to a whole new level in muay thai. Thank you for being a great teacher to me.
In 2010 I had to make some big changes in my life. My daughter Sophie was born. Best thing has ever happened to me and my wife. Unfortunately, Bobby and I had a fall down, which I struggled very much with, but I picked right back up after a few months. Robert Mosier, great friend and student of mine, has been helping me to get ready for upcoming fights. I got a new manager, tutor, and friend, Gianni Carriello. Things are working out great between us three and with their help we have achieved my biggest accomplishment: World Champion on July 4th, 2011 in Italy.
So far I had the chance to fight in: Argentina, USA, Mexico, Canada, Holland, France, Italy, and Panama.
I look forward to continuing to work towards my muay thai goals with the support of my wife, family, and my team. I know they will also encourage me to continue my university studies, in line with the Latin quotation mens sana in corpore sano often translated as “a sound mind in a sound body.”
